IGTV: 5 Ways to Style a Drape Trench Coat [I am 5’4″ for reference]
You guys know how much I love Everlane and I am beyond excited to be partnering with them on this post! They have a bunch of new arrivals for March and the pieces are SO good.
One of the new arrivals is Everlane’s drape trench. This drape trench is a such a chic piece and the item I never knew I needed in my wardrobe (until now!). It’s made of 60% Lyocell (and 40% cotton), which is a preferred eco-friendly fabric sourced from sustainable tree farms and is recyclable and biodegradable.
Comfy and oversized, it makes for the perfect layering piece. I thought I would show it’s versatility by styling it 5 ways in this week’s IGTV post.
Let me know which look is your favorite!
Outfit #1: Athleisure Style
An equally comfortable alternative to a sweater or hoodie, layer your activewear with the drape trench for a chic athleisure look.
*Note: I originally tried the court sneaker in the shoe size I typically wear (size 8) and thought it would be better to go up half a size. But after trying size 8.5 I’ve decided size 8 is a better fit for me (I also started wearing a new pair of no-show socks and they are very thin so they don’t require additional shoes space). If you find you are sometimes in between sizes, I recommend sizing up.
Outfit #2: Casual Everyday Look
I switched out my leggings for jeans and added some flats for a casual everyday go-to look.
Styled with the Day Market Tote, I love how minimal yet gorgeous the tote is. Made with 100% Italian leather, it’s the perfect final touch to any outfit (and you’ll notice I styled all these outfits with the tote!).
Note: This bag is perfect if you often carry a large number of items with you (like your laptop + more) or I also recommend the Day Square Tote which is slightly smaller (but will still fit your laptop + more) if you are looking for something slightly more compact .
Outfit #3: Monochrome Classic Look
I styled Everlane’s new short-sleeve cardigan with my favorite white jeans for an instantly-chic monochrome look. I absolutely LOVE these Editor Slingback Heels because they are the perfect balance between dressy/professional and comfortable.
Often I’m heading to an event or occasion where I need to dress up a bit but I’m always looking for the right shoes to wear. I don’t usually want to wear heels (but they do dress up a look so well) and I’ll something more dressed up than flats — and now I’ll finally have the right shoe!
Outfit #4: Sporty & Chic
Styling the same pieces, I switched into sneakers to dress the look down for a sportier look. Sporty and chic!
Outfit #5: Classic All-Black Outfit
You can’t beat a classic all black outfit, and I lightened up the look for spring with the drape trench and a pop of cognac. Wear this to the office or for dinner – you can’t go wrong with this outfit!
