[I am 5’4” for reference]
With fall just around the corner, I thought I would share some transitional outfits featuring some of my favorite essentials!
Since these are such great wardrobe staples [I promise these will be on constant repeat!], I thought it would be helpful to go into a little more detail about the fit/sizing for each item 🙂
Drape Trench [wearing size XS]:
You may recall I shared 5 ways to style the lighter color of this drape trench earlier this year for spring…and now it’s back for fall! This trench makes for such a great transitional piece, as it’s not too heavy and perfect to throw on for a layering piece. The darker shade is so great for fall and the soft drape material makes it easy to dress up or down.
T-shirt [wearing xs]:
If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ve probably seen this tee countless times!haha I live in my Everlane t-shirts and this organic cotton crop tee is one of my favorites. Since it’s a bit cropped, it’s a great length for the french tuck without it bulking up on the sides. Stock up on these tees-you won’t regret having backups!
Denim [fits TTS]:
I styled all three looks with Everlane’s authentic stretch high-waist jeans [fits tts] in my three go-to colors [distressed blue, black and white]. This was my first time trying these stretch high-waist jeans, and as usual, Everlane’s pants did not disappoint! They fit amazing and at 5’4” I wear the ankle pants, and they fall at the perfect length to wear with sneakers–and booties!
If you are looking for a little less stretch in your denim, I recommend the high-waist skinny jeans. I wore the Bone pair all last year and absolutely love them as well. The material is a little thicker denim material [and less stretchy]. I also received questions if the bone color was white, and now that I am able to compare the two in person, I would say bone is more of a muted white and the white stretch jeans are a bright white 🙂
Shoes:
You’ve probably also seen these sneakers featured multiple times and they such a great clean, white sneaker [and just under $100!]. I found that I need to size up half a size in Everlane shoes, but after trying both size 8 and 8.5 I ended up going with a size 8. If you are in between sizes, I recommend sizing up.
And last but not least…the perfect pair of boots!! I shared on my IG a couple of weeks ago that I found the perfect boots for fall…and these are it! With just a slight heel, they are so comfortable but still flattering, and the quality is amazing. I love the black leather and brown suede [will match with everything]. I went half a size up.
