My finalized F/W 2020 capsule wardrobe is here!
A capsule wardrobe is a collection of a few essential items that don’t go out of style and can then be augmented with seasonal pieces. The idea is to have around 30-40 pieces that you wear for 3 months (one season) until you transition in new pieces to wear for the next 3 months, and repeat.
Building a capsule wardrobe will help you:
-Minimize and declutter your closet
-Save money in the long run [no throwing out clothes constantly to stay up with the ever-changing trends]
-And make it easy to style outfits [versatile pieces makes it easy to pair everything together!]
I just started building my capsule wardrobe earlier this year and I can tell you–my closet is filled with a small select number of pieces that each bring my joy and get a lot of wear.
If you have been following along since my first collection, you will notice most of the same items remain in my collection, with only a few very minor updates [like switching out my turtlenecks for cashmere crewneck sweaters as I found them to be more versatile and updating my accessories].
I only included the pieces I wear on a regular basis, and I left out any of my year-round capsule pieces that aren’t for my daily wear.
Every person’s capsule collection should differ based on style preference [i.e you love color, patterns or dresses!], body type, and location [we don’t get extreme winters here]. Build your collection based on quality, classic and versatile pieces you love–and you will truly love your entire wardrobe!
