SPRING 2022 CAPSULE WARDROBE
My spring 2022 capsule collection is here!
Creating these capsules is sort of like a math equation to me lol…I try to formulate the perfect number of versatile pieces that can easily be mixed and matched a number of ways to cover a variety of occasions. From colder to warmer temps… or a casual day of running errands to a dinner date–this collection of 25 pieces [not including accessories] will have you covered! You can check out my spring e-book for all the stylized outfit combos that can be created from these 25 pieces!
Notes:
In 2020, I put together my very first spring capsule — and very few changes have been since then. Two years later, many of the same staple pieces remain, and only a few styles have been updated. In the past, I would have been buying a whole new wardrobe every time a new season rolled around [because ” I had nothing to wear!”] and so I see this as a true testament to just how well capsules works–and how beneficial it can be.
My style has slowly become more and more casual/masculine [for a number of reasons–but mostly I’m 1). lazy and 2). as I’ve gotten older I’ve really grown to appreciate comfort and wearing clothes I feel comfortable in–and I am 100% OK with this lol] so the majority of these pieces fall on the casual side. In the event I do need to dress up, I have a couple of go-to pieces for these occasions. But if you are someone who prefers to dress up a bit more, or you have a more feminine style, be sure to adjust the pieces based on what you like! For example, I’m not big on dresses, so I went with a matching set with pants. But for a more feminine style, you could go with a skirt set, florals or colorful set. And instead of t-shirts, you could go with bodysuits or add in a few more dressy tops.
You’ll find that I add in item descriptions under each item. I do this because it’s not necessarily about the specific product shown, but rather the type/style of an item [for example, a sweater vs a sweatshirt ]. You can use my product recommendations for guidance when shopping, but my hope is that you can use the staples from your own closet to create different outfits!
ABOUT CAPSULE WARDROBES
WHAT IS A CAPSULE WARDROBE?
A capsule wardrobe consists of a few essential items that don’t go out of style and can be augmented with seasonal pieces. Every capsule collection varies in size, but it is usually between 30-40 pieces that you wear for a season until you transition in new pieces to wear for the next season, and repeat.
A couple of important things to note:
- Don’t get stuck on the number of pieces you have in your collection! It’s not so much about the number of items you have as much as it’s about building a collection that works for YOU.
- This collection does not include everything in my wardrobe or everything I wear in a season. These are my essential pieces that allow me to easily style just about any outfit during the season, and the pieces that are on repeat probably 90% of the time.
A CAPSULE WARDROBE HELPS:
- Minimize and declutter your closet
- Save money in the long run [no throwing out clothes constantly to stay up with the ever-changing trends]
- Make it easy to style outfits [versatile pieces makes it easy to pair everything together!]
- Reduce the time you spend focusing on shopping, which allows you to increase the time you spend on other things!
EVERY CAPSULE COLLECTION IS UNIQUE!
Everyone’s style is different so your collection doesn’t have to look like just like mine [or anyone else’s]! I hope these posts are a source of inspiration but you do not need to feel like you have to have the same items to create your own wardrobe. Stick to pieces that you love and fit your body type.

Fantastic outfits! 🙂
Please never stop doing these! I have bought so many items for Spring and love them all! I love how you include a section in your ebook of “dressy” outfits…requesting more! I received so many compliments when using your formula. You have great taste and all the outfits look elevated and polished! Special request for more Nordstrom items because their return policy is the best! Thanks for introducing me to Abercrombie (again), Everlane and MMFleur.
Aw thank you sooo much!! And thank you for the feedback! Helps so much for the future when I’m putting these together!❤️🙏🏼
Love your recs! Also, for petite sizes (in my case, 5’1″), would you suggest a regular length trench coat or searching for a petite-length? Thanks!
Hi! Thank you! I would recommend a petite length! The j.crew one I linked to has a petite version!
Thanks for the quick response! Yes, I noticed that, but they only have navy in petite left 😢 in case you’re lining up new content, a collection of petite-friendly brands/lines would be so great!
