Ever wondered how to take care of delicate fabrics like wool and cashmere? Today, I’m sharing my at-home care routine using The Laundress!
I gave my favorite striped cashmere sweater a much needed refresh. It was overdue for a wash and it has had some stains on it for who knows how long 🙈. I used The Laundress to pretreat any stains and their Wool & Cashmere Shampoo for the wash. You have the option of either hand washing or using the machine, but if you opt for the machine, it’s recommended to use the delicate/hand wash cycle. Remember, always air dry your wool and cashmere pieces! Avoid the dryer at all costs to prevent shrinking.

My Sweater Care Routine
STEP 1: Pretreat Stains [If Necessary]
I place a small drop of the Stain Solution onto the stains I have on my sweater. Then using the Stain Brush, I gently brush the affected area so that the solution would really sink into the fabric.

STEP 2: Prepare for Wash
I then turn my sweater inside out and place it inside a mesh bag. This helps protect your garments from any friction that happens during the wash that causes pilling.

STEP 3: Place in the Wash
Now you add 0.25 oz of The Laundress Wool & Cashmere Shampoo to the wash. Set the machine to cold and the delicate/hand wash cycle.

STEP 4: Lay Flat to Dry + Remove any Pilling
For the final step, I place my sweater on a clothing rack to dry outside on the balcony [this can also be done inside]. Take this time to remove any pilling [you can use a lint remover like this one HERE].

FINAL RESULT:
My sweater is looking and feeling as good as day one!
