I’m coming a little late with this post, but I wanted to round up some of my top workwear items from last year! The top brands that these pieces are from are: Abercrombie, Edited Pieces, Everlane, J.Crew, MANGO, Nordstrom, and Sam Edelman. I highly recommend these pieces shown in this blog post for business casual to smart casual workwear looks.
Top Workwear Items of 2023
This J.Crew sweater jacket undoubtedly earned its place as one of my most styled pieces for work outfits in 2023! The quality, warmth, and comfortability of this jacket have made it a staple in my wardrobe. It effortlessly adds a classic touch to workwear, and the best part is, it comes in a variety of other colors and patterns. I’m wearing xs.
Your most beloved item, hands down, were the Abercrombie Sloane pants, and it’s easy to see why! Priced at under $100, these pants combine affordability with style. With a wide range of more than 10 colors and various inseams, they cater to diverse everyone. For reference, I’m 5’4″ and wear a size 25 in the regular length. However, if you’re under 5’4″ or have shorter legs, I highly recommend opting for the petite length to ensure the perfect fit.
Let me introduce you to one of my absolute favorite belts from Edited Pieces, and what makes it even more special is that my friend @jeanwang is the designer! What I love about this belt is its reversible feature—it’s like having a 2-in-1 accessory. The one I’m wearing below is the mini version, but if you prefer a bolder look, it’s also available in a thicker version, which you can check out HERE.
The perfect, oversized blazer for comfortable workwear looks! This beige color is unfortunately sold out, but there are other colors available – it’s also currently on sale. I’m wearing xs.
Here’s another gem from Abercrombie that has become one of my favorites—I just can’t get enough of the texture! In comparison to the J.Crew Emilie sweater jacket, this piece has a more structured silhouette. I’m wearing xs.
The J.Crew denim trousers in chambray wash were definitely my top favorite jeans of last year. Their classic style and exceptional comfort make them an absolute wardrobe staple! I’m wearing size 25 in the classic length, but the petite length would have been better for my 5’4″ height [to not wear with only heels].
If you’re looking for classic and comfortable loafers for the office, I recommend these Lorraine loafers! I’m wearing the old style in the photo below, but I’ve linked to the newest style which are very similar. I find these loafers to be true to size. I recommend wearing these no-show socks with the loafers.
Cap toe flats and heels are one of the most classic style of work shoes you could have in your wardrobe. These Aliz slingback heels are very comfortable and priced just under $200.
#9: MANGO CAMEL COAT [My Favorite]
I can’t emphasize enough how much I love my Mango camel coat! It has earned its place as one of the most frequently worn pieces in my closet, suitable for almost every occasion. Its such a versatile piece, making it an ideal choice for both casual outings and professional settings [note: this is unlined]. I’m wearing xs.
Compared to the Sloane tailored pants, I love this crepe tailored version for more elevated looks. The overall style is the same, but the crepe tailored pants wrinkle less and have a more flowy silhouette. I wear a size 25 in the regular inseam. I found that these ran a little tight on the waist and could have sized up.
*SALE ALERT* The Stevie ankle boots are currently on sale for under $150! These boots were my top favorite boots for workwear looks in 2023. They have a kitten heel, so they’re very comfortable for an all-day wear at the office.
The Wit & Wisdom crop trousers are one of the most underrated pair of work pants in my closet. They’re under $100 and are designed to look like your classic pair of work pants [they have a stretchy fabric, so they’re super comfortable]. Note that you can’t wear a belt because they don’t have belt loops in the back. I’m wearing size 00 regular.
#13: EVERLANE BOXY CASHMERE CREW [My Favorite]
Classic, comfortable, and warm. This cashmere crew from Everlane was a top favorite from my fall pieces. It’s on the pricier side, but I would consider this as an investment piece! I’m wearing xs.
Item that didn’t make my list, but that I still love and recommend:
